Initial commit

Welcome to Cooking React Native Applications!

This collection of working files is intended to help you get 

started quickly and follow along with the various projects.

The project files are designed to serve as a reference. There

is a bias for working with iOS since the course was recorded

and developed on MacOS. The material that is not cross platform

(e.g. animations and JSON / GraphQL requests) should work just

as well on an Android device and through the Android simulator.

The working files do not include the Node package dependencies.

Make sure you have React Native installed on your computer.  

Facebook's Getting Started guide should provide simple 

instructions for your environment:

To run the project files, you will need to download all 

the package dependencies by going into the project folder

and running:

> npm install

iOS:

1. Open the project file in ios/ (look for the file ending in .xcodeproj)

2. Run the simulator. The project should build and launch react native development server. Once successfully built, the emulator should start running the app.

Android:

1. Open Android Studio and make sure that you have an emulator setup and running.

2. Start the android emulator

3. Build and run from the command line:

> react-native run-android
